Effective December 2024, Ontario introduces the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority to regulate PSWs, ensuring safe, competent, and ethical care. The new framework includes registration pathways, a public register, and a Code of Ethics, aiming to enhance public trust and quality of care.

All businesses in Ontario are required to have at least one first aid certified employee on site at all times, according to Regulation 1101 of the Ontario Workplace Safety and Insurance Act. Additionally, workplaces must provide first aid training based on the number of employees per shift. Bonus: being first aid certified increases your chances of getting hired!
